“I AM” THAT IS SOMETHING TO GET EXCITED ABOUT.
Over my lifetime I found I was always looking for someone else to tell me what I needed to do, what is right for me, and what I am. It took a long time to see I AM what I AM and that is something to be excited about. It is something that you should be proud of too. It means there are limitless possibilities to what “I AM” can mean for you and in your life. Is that not exciting? The idea is the “I AM” statement allows a person can shape who they are or desire to be at any given moment. It certainly excites me to think we are not bound by what we were and can be whatever “I AM” statement we choose to incorporate into personal beliefs.
The intention for this blog is for bringing the awareness to the statement “I AM” , seeing the power in it.
Ultimately, all of us are who we are and the “I AM” is how each person defines themselves. That no other person really has the power to take that power away unless an individual gives it to another. Do not give your power to another, allow yourself to experience the power of creating what you are. Look at this perspective, if you did something yesterday or experienced something in the past you would not use the words I AM? The use of the “I AM” for a past experience would imply that you are in the present. Therefore you would use words like I was, I did, and I had just to list a few examples. So that means that you have an opportunity to release that which of what you were and accept that which you are with the “I AM” mindset.
Be proud of the “I AM”. The “I AM” means you are breathing, feeling, able to make new choices, and able to create a better today or tomorrow. The ability to identify the “I AM” mindset comes with great power. Working with others I have found that some people really benefit from the “I AM” affirmations. These affirmations allow them to speak positively into themselves assisting with replacing negative self-talk. I encourage positive affirmations but I also encourage the power of understanding that of which you are (self-awareness).
This is how you can start using the I AM in your daily routine:
Sit with yourself somewhere where you will not be disturbed
Take some deep breaths and allow yourself to be very present
Remind yourself “I am perfectly imperfect”, “I am having here having my own experience”, and “I am capable of shaping my own experience”.
Ask yourself what do I see myself as using the “I AM” statement
o This may be emotion “I AM SAD” ETC…
o This may also be a quality you feel is inside of you “I AM SMART, LOVING, GENEROUS”
Look at your list of “I AM” statements. Do they all support the feeling that you are looking to feel? Do they support what you are trying to create?
Pay attention to the feeling you get when you hear yourself say the statements. Do you believe them?
After you sort through your statements which ones can you remove and replace with something more supportive?
If you do not feel or believe your “I am” statements what actions can you take to help yourself believe them? The actions you put behind your statements can greatly assist in reinforcing them and develop them as your beliefs.
When you begin to believe the power of the “I AM” statement and allow yourself to be proud of who you are in the moment it is likely you will begin to feel more fulfilled and it will pour out into other aspects of your life. Here is some final food for thought. The “I AM” you are today probably was not the “I AM” you were yesterday, and surely doesn’t have to be the “I AM” you are after you read this or tomorrow and that is something to get excited about.
